PERIGLACIATION
Periglacial areas occur near to the edge of ice sheet . A layer of frozen ground lying just beneath the surface of land is known as permafrost . When the surface melts in the summer , the water is unable to drain into the frozen ground and so creeps downhill . Process known as solifluction .
