The earth's surface is constantly being transformed :it is uplifted ,folded and faulted by tectonic forces ;weathered and eroded by wind ,water and ice .sometimes change is dramatic ,the spectacular results of earthquakes or floods .more often it is a slow process lasting millions of years. A physical map of the world represent a snapshot of the ever-evolving architecture of the earth . The terrain map shows the whole surface of the earth ,both above and below the sea .
