GEOMETRIC BORDERS
Straight lines and lines of longitudinal and latitude have occasionally been used to determine international boundaries and indeed the worlds second largest continuous international boundary between canada and the usa follows the 49th parallel for over one-third of its course . Many canadian ,american and australian internal administrative boundries are similarly determined using a geometric solution .
